From thunderstorms to high winds, odd weather continues
A rare January thunderstorm Sunday night will be followed on Monday by a cold front and high winds, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures in the region hovered in the mid 40s on Monday morning with patches of fog, but temperatures should begin to dip by afternoon as a cold front pushes across the area.
Winds will become westerly and increase to around 25 mph with gusts of up to 40 mph later this morning and afternoon. The National Weather Service warns that the gusts will make travel dangerous for high-profile vehicles, especially those traveling north-south roadways.
This afternoon and tonight, expect light snow flurries and temperatures dipping back below freezing on Tuesday.
