MARKHAM | A Glenwood resident is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday on charges relating to the robbery of his mother.

Willie J. Jackson, 23, is charged with robbery. He is scheduled to appear at the Sixth District Cook County Circuit Court for his first appearance in the south suburban court district.

He has been held at the Cook County Jail since Saturday, when he made his initial court appearance at the Criminal Courts Building in Chicago. Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. set bond at $750,000.

Cook County state's attorney's officials said that Jackson wanted to get money from his mother while at their home in the 500 block of South Minerva Avenue. Officials said Jackson stabbed her repeatedly before taking $101.

Prosecutors said the mother suffered wounds mostly to her hands, and underwent surgery over the weekend.
