GLENWOOD | The Village Board formally approved an intergovernmental agreement between the village and Brookwood Elementary District 167 at its April 15 meeting.

Under the agreement, the village will vacate a 33-foot section of Eberhardt Avenue, which bisects property on which the school district plans to build a new middle school. The district will have to provide a route of egress for residents who live on Eberhardt, pave the section of the street where houses are located and install a new culvert.

A gate, which will be closed during school hours, will be installed at the north end of Eberhardt.

D.167 School Board President John Dixon encouraged the Village Board to approve the agreement, and the board did so unanimously.

"(I'm) glad to finally get that done," Trustee Tony Plott said.
