GLENWOOD | Three people were left with gunshot wounds following a shooting in a Glenwood apartment Monday morning, police said.

Officers were called at 10:25 a.m. to an apartment in the 500 block of Carroll Parkway by a resident who reported hearing shots fired, said Glenwood Police Chief Demetrius Cook.

When officers arrived, Cook said, they found one resident with gunshot wounds. Witnesses were able to provide a description of the suspect's vehicle and Glenwood police issued an alert to surrounding law enforcement agencies.

Cook said Homewood police shortly thereafter stopped a vehicle matching the witness description in the 17400 block of Halsted Street in the retail district there. Police found four people inside, two of whom had gunshot wounds.

Cook said he does not believe the gunshot victims in the car or the apartment have life-threatening injuries.
