HARVEY | A 20-year-old man was arrested Monday after he ran from police on the 14700 block of South Wood Street, deputies said.

Jamoney Conard, of Harvey, faces charges of armed violence, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of marijuana.

Deputies said they saw a group of people at 3:35 p.m. in an area known for drug sales. Conard was part of the group and ran into a nearby store when deputies approached them, according to a news release from the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

Conard threw a .22-caliber revolver in the store, the sheriff's office said. He was also carrying 35 grams of marijuana.

He remained in Cook County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
