HARVEY | Police recovered three handguns, three rifles and more than 500 rounds of ammunition Thursday from a house in Harvey.

Officers found the weapons inside a house in the area of Cooper Avenue and 155th Place after receiving a tip from the Marion Police Department in Ohio, according to a news release from the Harvey Police Department.

The homeowner is a 54-year-old woman who agreed to let officers search her house. However, police do not think the woman knew that the weapons were hidden in her basement. She is not facing any charges in the case.

According to the release, Harvey police and Marion police are working together on the investigation. No one has yet been charged in the case.
