HARVEY | A Midlothian man was charged by prosecutors with murder Friday, just 24 hours after the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man in Harvey, police said.

Charged was Dashonti Wiley, 39. He is expected to appear in bond court in Markham on Saturday morning, police said.

Police responded about 3 p.m. Thursday to a report of shots fired in the area of 152nd Street and Vine Avenue. The unidentified shooting victim was taken to Ingalls Hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

Following leads indicating the shooting was a result of an earlier altercation involving the victim and the suspect, investigators located and arrested the suspect about 9 p.m., police said.
