FLOSSMOOR | The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District hosts its Celebration of Winter, a free event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 5 at the Coyote Run Golf Course, 800 Kedzie Ave.
If you're getting cabin fever, the Park District invites you to come out of the house for a fun Saturday in the snow. There will be pictures on the Zamboni, winter activities and games, plus warm food and drinks.
Events for the day include:
• 11 a.m-3 p.m., Bonfire, cross-country skiing and demo, winter bingo and food.
• 11:45 a.m., Dog musher demonstration with the running of the dogs (snow permitting).
• 12:30 p.m., Pictures with a musher dog and human musher pull.
• 1:45 p.m., Dog musher demonstration with the running of the dogs (snow permitting).
• 2:30 p.m., Snowball accuracy throw.
