FLOSSMOOR | The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District announces its 2013 summer of free concerts in the park at the Marie Irwin band shell, in Irwin Park at Ridge Road and Highland Avenue in Homewood.

The 2013 “Music in the Park” schedule kicks off with the “Starry Nights” concert series, now in its 27th year. “Starry Nights” features three shows for concert-goers to enjoy:

June 13 – Final Say

June 27 – Dancing Noodles

July 25 – Spoken Four

The H-F Community Band will open for all the June “Starry Nights” performances and 2012 Homewood Idol winner Phallon Boyd will open in July at 7 p.m. Headline entertainment begins at 8 p.m.

In case of rain, the “Starry Nights” concerts will take place at the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District Auditorium, 2010 Chestnut, Homewood.

Rounding out the rest of the “Music in the Park” concert series:

7 p.m. June 20 – H-F Community Band

7 p.m. July 11 – H-F Community Band

5 p.m. July 12 – Battle of the Bands

7 p.m. July 18 – H-F Community Band

7 p.m. Aug. 1 – H-F Marching Band

6 p.m. Aug. 15 – School of Rock

11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 24 – Music Fest 2013

All “Music in the Park” concerts are held at the Marie Irwin Band shell and admission is free.

Food and beverages will be available from vendors throughout the series. Alcohol will be available for purchase at “Starry Nights” only. All “Music in the Park” events are smoke-free.
