Homewood-Flossmoor Park District offers Camp Frosty from Dec. 23 to Jan. 6 at the H.F. Sports Complex, 18211 S. Aberdeen Ave. in Homewood. Kids from kindergarten to fifth grade will spend 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at a Frosty Factory, Penguin Party and Hibernation Hideaway. The cost is $27 for residents and $41 for nonresidents per day.
Camp Frosty before and after camp, from 7 to 9 a.m. and 3:30 to 6 p.m., offers a chance for kids to continue the day's themed activities. Working parents can leave their children in a safe place for $9 for residents and $13 for nonresidents per day.
South Holland's winter break program runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 23 to Jan. 10 for children in kindergarten through 10th grade at the South Holland Community Center at 501 E. 170th St. Extended hours are from 7 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Extended hours cost $120 per week per child for residents and $130 per week per child for nonresidents.
Field trips will be made to see a movie, a play at the Looking Glass Theatre and shopping at the Southlake Mall in Hobart. Kids will have a lock-in on Jan. 3.
There will be no program on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1. The cost is $85 for South Holland residents and $95 for nonresidents per week. For more information, contact the community center at (708) 331-2940.
Homewood-Flossmoor Ice Arena, 777 Kedzie Ave., Flossmoor, will host "Twas the Night Before Christmas," a skating exibiition, at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 23. Competitive skaters will perform while holiday music is played. Admission is $3.
Kids will have a chance to Skate with Santa after the event for $6 plus a $4 skate rental.
Santa will be having brunch at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Dec. 22 at Coyote Run Golf Course, 800 Kedzie Ave. in Flossmoor. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (708) 957-8774. Cost is $14.95 for adults and $6.95 for children ages three to 12.
