HOMEWOOD | Cook County Sheriff's Police detectives are asking for the public's help in finding a 22-year-old Homewood man suspected of severely beating and stabbing his mother on Monday, according to a news release.

Police are looking for Blake Springsteen, described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall and 240 pounds.

Springsteen is suspected of beating his 46-year-old mother in the home they shared in the 3600 block of Flossmoor Road in unincorporated Homewood, police said. Police say Springsteen bound the woman, put her in the trunk of a car and drove her to Crete. She was stabbed multiple times and left in a ditch in the 900 block of Columbia Street in Crete, police said. She is expected to survive.

The public is advised not to approach Springsteen. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Cook County Sheriff's Police at (847) 635-1188.
