HOMEWOOD | Three people accused of being involved in an armed robbery of a Bank of America branch in Homewood were in police custody late Wednesday, authorities said.

Two armed people at 10:30 a.m. went into the bank branch at 18460 Governors Highway and left with an undisclosed amount of money, according to a news release from the FBI. No one was injured in the bank.

The pair left on foot, but one person was taken into custody shortly after the robbery, according to the release.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in a search for the other robbery suspects. About 2:30 p.m. two people were found in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex and taken into custody, the FBI said.

It was unclear Wednesday what the role of the third suspect was in the robbery.

The suspects were not identified by the FBI. Charges were pending late Wednesday.
