LANSING | Lansing police are seeking the public's help in finding Marcus Randle-El, a former University of Wisconsin football player accused of taking his daughter at gunpoint Thursday night.

Randle-El is the younger brother of former Indiana University and NFL player Antwaan Randle-El. Both are graduates of Thornton Township High School in Harvey.

Officers were called at 8:15 p.m. Thursday to a domestic disturbance in the 2100 block of 175th Street. A woman there who said she was Marcus Randle-El's former girlfriend told police he forced his way into the apartment while displaying a handgun.

Marcus Randle-El then allegedly took the couple's 3-year-old daughter and fled in a black SUV.

Lansing police contacted Illinois State Police, who issued an Amber Alert.

The getaway vehicle was later located in Riverdale and a person of interest was taken into custody. Neither Marcus Randle-El nor his daughter were in the vehicle, police said.

Police were in contact with family members and the little girl was returned unharmed at the Lansing police station five hours after her abduction. She was reunited with her mother at the station, police said.

Police were still searching for Marcus Randle-El on Friday and said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Lansing Police Department at (708) 895-7150.
