The Lansing Library participated in World Book Night on Tuesday, with volunteers at various locations in the village handing out books for free to encourage nonreaders to read.

Megan Grady stationed herself near the door at Buffalo Wild Wings on Ridge Road, giving customers a copy of "Looking for Alaska" by John Green.

The nationwide event is held every year in April. Participating libraries get a book list, and volunteers choose a book from the list and try to station themselves at a location where they believe people would be interested in that particular book.
