HAMMOND | The Challenger Learning Center of Northwest Indiana will be offering Summer Space Adventure Camps for students pre K through eighth grade. Students will train as the astronauts do during a variety of sessions that are both stimulating and age-appropriate.

Camp sessions will vary by age, grade level and cost, with dates in June and July. New to the 2013 schedule is Generations Intergenerational Camp, intended for students ages 7 and up and an adult of any age. Partners will roam the region during this one day camp, beginning at the Challenger Learning Center and ending with an exploration of another Northwest Indiana destination.

Generations Intergenerational Camp will be offered July 1 through July 3. Pairs will work together on fun science activities at the Challenger Learning Center from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and spend the second half of the day camp at Indiana Vet Tech Association on July 1, Hammond Environmental Education Center on July 2, and Taltree Arboretum on July 3. Cost is $80 per pair.

The Challenger Learning Center is a not-for-profit space science education center which offers educational opportunities for people of all ages.
