LANSING | Police arrested a Chicago man over the weekend who is accused of taking part in an armed robbery at Mitchell's Foods.
David Walker, 22, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of armed robbery, Lansing police said. He was scheduled to have his first appearance in court Sunday.
Police said Walker and another unidentified man walked into the grocery store at 18202 Torrence Ave. at 12:30 a.m. Thursday and demanded money from the store clerk. The men also tried to get the store clerk to open a locked back room, police said.
One of the men had a gun and pistol-whipped the employee, police said. The clerk was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at (708) 895-7150.
