LANSING | District 215 officials are apologizing to parents of Thornton Fractional South High School students who erroneously received an automated phone call regarding student grades.

The district said in a statement Monday that a phone dialer message intended for a small group of parents whose students were failing classes was mistakenly sent to all Thornton Fractional South parents.

T.F. South Principal Judy Whalen issued an apology to those families that erroneously received the phone call and provided a follow-up message to correct any confusion.

The original message was intended for only a small group of parents whose children were failing two or more classes, inviting them to attend a meeting Wednesday with school administrators and staff to discuss ways to help students improve their grades. Report cards will be given to those particular students during that meeting.

Parents who may be unsure of their students’ grades are encouraged to check Power School, the District 215 student information system. Parents also may contact the T.F. South main office at (708) 585-2000 for any additional information regarding this issue.
