LANSING | No one was injured in a fire Saturday at a Lansing multi-unit apartment complex.
At 7:13 p.m., fire officials received a report of a fire in the 2100 block of 175th Street, Lansing Fire Department Engineer Tim Kotecki said.
The only occupant at the time was a puppy, which ran to firefighters, who reunited it with its family.
The fire was doused in about five minutes.
"It was almost burned out by the time we got in there," Kotecki said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the unit that was damaged is uninhabitable, he said.
Fire departments from Calumet City, South Holland, Riverdale, Thornton, Munster and East Hazel Crest also responded.
