Fishin' Buddies Fall Fishing Derby from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at Wampum Lake, Interstate 90/94 and Thornton-Lansing Road.
Archaeology Day is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Sand Ridge Nature Center, 15891 S. Paxton Ave. Guided hikes, archaeology displays, activities and crafts.
Leave No Child Inside: Family Fun Day
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at Sand Ridge Nature Center. Activities include games, an obstacle course, a nature scavenger hunt and more.
41st annual Settlers' Day
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24 at Sand Ridge Nature Center. Costumed living history demonstrations, history hikes, crafts, an imaginary wagon train adventure. Donations of nonperishable food or money to benefit a local food depository will be appreciated.
Family Night Out: Stars, Stories and S'mores from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 2 at Eggers Grove Comfort Station, 11201 S. Avenue B. Celebrate the "Day of the Dead" tradition. There will be a fire, storytelling, snacks and other nature activities.
Afterschool Archery from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at Eggers Woods Grove 3. Staff provides instruction in this workshop for ages 10 and older. Parents welcome. Also from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at same location.
Fall paddle on Powderhorn Lake, from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Oct. 12, 13817-14451 S. Brainard Ave. Activities include pumpkin painting and a 10-passenger voyageur canoe.
