MARKHAM | A former Lansing resident who faces criminal charges for incidents that occurred in a child day care center that operated in his home pleaded not guilty Tuesday to those charges.

Dave Lukowski, 63, of Grant Park in Kankakee County, was at the 6th District Cook County Circuit Courthouse, where he entered his plea and had his case assigned to Associate Judge Luciano Panici, who continued the case until May 29.

Lukowski is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse in two separate cases involving activities at the day care that operated in his Lansing home in the 17100 block of Oakwood Avenue in the early 1990s.

Lukowski is free while his criminal case is pending, after having posted 10 percent of a $150,000 bond that previously was set for him. Lansing police said there is no continued threat to the area since the day care in question has long been out of business.
