LANSING | A fundraiser for Lansing teenager Joshua Miketinas in September has been a success, raising more than $19,000 to purchase a van with a wheelchair lift.

Jack's Sports Pub & Eatery, 3325 Ridge Road, hosted the fundraiser for Miketinas, who was born with cerebral palsy.

Lisa Lange, event chairwoman, says the event raised more than $19,000 and it was used as a down payment for the van. There were more than 350 people in attendance.

Cash donations as well as such raffle gifts as perfumes to airplane rides were offered.

Miketinas, who turned 16 in September, is getting too big to carry and needed the wheelchair accessible van to get to and from the Crete-Monee Center in Crete where he attends school.

Lange thanked all the volunteers, donors and the staff at Jack's for supporting the fundraiser.
