LANSING | The Lansing Association for Community Events, or LACE, the nonprofit organization formed in 2013 to connect individuals in Lansing and restore a sense of community through annual public events, has announced its schedule of events for 2014.
The schedule includes the third annual Lansing Autumn Fest, second annual Christmas House Walk, hosting of summer cruise nights and a new Fat Tuesday Bash.
On Tuesday, the Lansing Country Club will be the setting for a celebration of lively fun as we move into the Lenten season. The bash is from 6 to 11 p.m. with tickets sold in advance for $12 or at the door for $15. Tickets include appetizers, a candy buffet, packzi, beads, entertainment, dancing, a mask contest and king and queen contest. There will be a cash bar. Tickets area available in advance at Lynnie Ques, J.J. Kelley’s, LARC, Water’s Edge, the Lampshade House, in Munster, or from any LACE board member.
LACE has also taken on organization of the summer cruise nights in Lansing. The dates for 2014 cruise nights are June 14, July 12 and Aug. 2. Cruise Nights in Lansing will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. on Ridge Road between Burnham and Wentworth avenues. Phillips Chevrolet is the new sponsor of Lansing Cruise Nights.
The Lansing Autumn fest will take place in downtown Lansing from Oct. 10- 12 with family friendly fun in the kids zone, a Market Place with arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, entertainment, chili cook-off, parade, face painting, photo opportunities, military honor day and more. LACE invites residents to the 2014 Lansing Autumn Fest Kick-Off event at 7 p.m. March 10 at Visible Music College at Lake and Henry streets in Lansing, directly across from Fox Pointe, the festival site. Meet the LACE board members, learn about some of the plans for this year’s fest, see the updated Visible Music College facility and sign up to volunteer at the fest.
The last event of 2014 will be the second annual Christmas House Walk. The initial event was a huge success highlighting the decorating efforts of several Lansing homeowners, Water’s Edge, the Lansing Historical Society and the Lansing Country Club.
