LANSING | Students who received top scores at their schools on the 2013 Illinois Scholastic Achievement Test, or ISAT, were recognized by the Lansing Elementary District 158 School Board. Almost all of the students attended the Nov. 20 School Board meeting and were presented with certificates of commendation.

The top achievers by school were:

Coolidge Elementary School: Bailey Goranson (third grade reading); James Ballard, Roque Chapa and Madeline Gann (third grade mathematics); Sydney Rosinia Cowan (fourth grade reading and science); Ali Kelly and Marley Rosinia Cowan (fourth grade mathematics); Jacob Jadwin (fourth grade science); Joel Herrera (fifth grade reading) and Camryn Reitsma (fifth grade mathematics)

Oak Glen Elementary School: Aleesa Collins (third grade reading and mathematics); Jack Redikop (fourth grade reading); Anthony Bukvich (fourth grade mathematics); Josephine Hoekstra and Jasmine Moore (fourth grade science); Tatiana Gutierrez (fifth grade reading); Jacob Hollimon (fifth grade mathematics)

Reavis Elementary School: Angel Gutierrez (third grade reading); Jorja Wood (third grade mathematics); Jakob Onayo (fourth grade reading); Kelsey Oliveres (fourth grade mathematics); Ernest Anderson III (fourth grade science); Kevin Nawrocki (fifth grade reading); David Casillas (fifth grade mathematics)

Memorial Junior High School: Joshua Gann (sixth grade reading and mathematics); Kelson Sumners and Raven Turner (sixth grade reading); Kameryn Bray, Arianna Bunch and Margaret DiGrispino (seventh grade reading); Ian Ahern (seventh grade mathematics and science); Omar Tlatelpa (seventh grade science); Mayra Tlatelpa (eighth grade reading); Ian Kocher (eighth grade reading and mathematics)

Reavis School Principal Dave Kostopoulos made special mention that Nawrocki earned a perfect score in reading.

Superintendent Cecilia Heiberger thanked the parents who attended for the support they've provided in helping their children succeed.

"We couldn't do it without you and your kids couldn't do it without you," Heiberger said.
