CHICAGO | Members of the Lansing Junior Woman's Club recently traveled to Midway Airport for the evening arrival of the Honor Flight Chicago return on Oct. 2.
The Honor Flight program has chapters in several major U.S. cities and on each flight, World War II veterans are flown for free to Washington, D.C. to visit the World War II Memorial. The program is supported by donations and volunteers.
For each flight, the public is invited to gather in patriotic clothing with flags and signs to welcome these heroes of the Greatest Generation home from their flight.
