LANSING | The Lansing Public Library, 2750 Indiana Ave., invites the public to participate in our July programs for adults. For more information or to register contact the Adult Services Desk in person or call (708) 474-2447. Registration is also online at www.lansingpl.org.

Adult Book Discussions

Reality Check adult book discussion will meet at 6:30 p.m. July 11 at the Lansing Public Library. The book discussed will be “The World Without Us” by Alan Weisman. Copies are available at the upstairs circulation desk.

Friends of the Library Book Sale is July 13. Members only shop from 9 to 10 a.m., general public shops from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Membership available at the door. There is an ongoing book sale located in the Fiction and Beyond Department.

Adult Programs

History of Star Trek Collectibles  1 to 3 p.m. July 6. Join sociology professor and fellow Star Trek fan John Tenuto for a fun look at 45 years of Star Trek collectibles. Registration is required.

Multi-Library Geocaching Event begins June 10. Visit the Information and Instruction Desk for more information, your log sheet and instructions.

Have Book-Will Travel Summer Reading Program June 10 to July 27. Visit the Fiction and Beyond Department for more information.

Tabletop Gaming Night 4 to 8 p.m. July 27.

Over the age of 18 and still love to game? Then come to our Tabletop Gaming Night. We have an awesome collection of tabletop games to choose from. Drop by and join a game, or bring a group and grab a whole table. Registration is not required. This is a monthly event taking place the fourth Saturday of the month.

Family History Classes: A Six-Week Course

Courses continue in the month of July from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 11, 18 and 25. Contact Fiction and Beyond for more information and to register.

Computer Classes at the Lansing Public Library.

Registration is required and is limited to 10 Lansing Library card holders. Must have library card to register. Classes are 11/2 hours in length.

Calumet River Creative Writers Group will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the first Saturday of the month.

Purls of Wisdom Knitters and Crochet Circle will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 10 and 24 and from 10 a.m. to noon July 5 and 19.

The Lansing Business Women's Association is cutting and sorting coupons for our military families overseas. The coupons can be used six months past the expiration date at their commissary. Join us on the first Monday of every month at the Lansing Public Library in the Community Room. We meet 9:30 a.m. to noon and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Bring you scissors and any coupons you may have.
