Adult Book Discussions

Avid Reads adult book discussion will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Lansing Public Library. The book discussed will be “Light Between Oceans” by M L Steadman. Copies are available at the upstairs circulation desk.

Reality Check adult book discussion will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Lansing Public Library. The book discussed will be “Braniac” by Ken Jennings. Copies are available at the upstairs circulation desk.

Murder and Mayhem adult book discussion will meet at 11 a.m. Sept. 17 at the Lansing Public Library. The book discussed will be “The Murder at the Vicarage” by Agatha Christie. Copies are available at the upstairs circulation desk.

Friends of the Library Fill-a-Bag for $5 Book Sale is Sept. 14. Members only shop from 9 to 10 a.m., the general public can shop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Membership available at the door. There is an ongoing book sale located in the Fiction and Beyond Department.

Adult Programs

Paper Creations Classes from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 26. This class project will be an Accordion Mini Album. Class is limited to 12 Lansing library cardholders. Register with Adult Services staff.

Travel with Doug Dvorak: Travel to Turkey & the Black Sea, Instanbul to Odessa to Moscow at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 19.

Tabletop Gaming Night is from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 28.

Over the age of 18 and still love to game? Then come to the Tabletop Gaming Night. The library has an awesome collection of tabletop games to choose from. Drop by and join a game, or bring a group and grab a whole table. Registration is not required. This is a monthly event taking place the fourth Saturday of the month.

Computer Classes at the Lansing Public Library.

Registration is required and is limited to 10 Lansing Library card holders. Must have library card to register. Classes are 1 1/2  hours in length. Call for available classes, dates and times.

Calumet River Creative Writers Group will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the first Saturday of the month.

Purls of Wisdom Knitters and Crochet Circle will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m.  Sept. 4 and 18 and from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 13 and 27.

The Lansing Business Women's Association is cutting and sorting coupons for military families overseas. The coupons can be used six months past the expiration date at their commissary. Join the group on the first Monday of every month at the Lansing Public Library in the Community Room. They meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Bring scissors and any coupons you may have.
