LANSING | The parking lot of the Lansing Public Library, 2750 Indiana Ave., is under reconstruction since Sept. 16 in a project expected to last up to eight weeks.
The entire lot will be closed and the lower entry to the library will be inaccessible.
The 37-year-old parking lot will be completely redone and a much needed materials drive-through drop box will be added for patron convenience.
Handicapped parking and ramps will be improved and patrons will now be able to drive through the lot not only to return materials but to drop off and pick up people, too. New landscaping will add some extra green space.
Library officials ask that patrons park on School Street and Indiana Avenue. Two temporary handicap parking spots will be added in front of the building for a total of four handicapped spaces for patron use.
