LANSING | Police officers from Lansing on Friday took to the rooftop of the Dunkin' Donuts on Torrence Avenue to raise funds for Special Olympics Illinois.

Over the past three years, the Lansing Police Department has raised more than $5,000 through this fundraiser. Other law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois took part in the event as well.

People making a donation that day were given a coupon for a free doughnut. For every $10 donation received, the donor was given a Torch Run/Dunkin’ Donuts stainless steel coffee mug and a coupon for a free coffee, valid that day only.

Also for sale that day were official Torch Run merchandise and Harley-Davidson raffle tickets. All proceeds from these sales go to Special Olympics Illinois as well.
