LANSING | Officers from the Lansing Police Department will be taking part in the “Cop on Rooftop” fundraiser event which takes place between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m. May 30 at the Lansing Dunkin’ Donuts, 17733 Torrence Ave.

All donations collected that day will go to support Special Olympics Illinois. Over the past four years the Lansing Police Department has raised over $7,000 through this fundraiser. Many other law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois will also be taking part in this event as well.

All persons making a donation that day will be given a coupon for a free doughnut. For every $10 donation received, the person making the donation will be given a Torch Run/Dunkin’ Donuts stainless steel coffee mug and coupon for a free coffee, valid that day only. Also for sale that day will be official Torch Run merchandise and Harley-Davidson raffle tickets. Torch Run hats and T-shirts are $15 each, lapel pins are $5 each and Harley tickets are $10 each. All proceeds from these sales goes to Special Olympics Illinois.
