ELWOOD, Ill. | A group of Lansing residents recently traveled to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery to assist with removal of wreaths that had been placed on veterans' graves before Christmas.

The volunteer project was coordinated by Lansing resident Bob Orzel, an employee of the Lansing Police Department. Volunteers included Patty Eidam, Bud Eidam, Paul Henry, Mary Henry, Laurie Crosby, Jack Crosby, Paul Steinweg, Chandler Steinweg, Carter Steinweg, Brandon Steinweg, Ian Steinweg, Sue Orzel, Sandi Hynek and Bob Orzel.
