LANSING | Village officials will conduct a lottery Jan. 4 to determine who will get the top position on ballots for the April 9 municipal elections.
The lottery will take place at noon at Village Hall, 3141 Ridge Road, and will be overseen by the village clerk’s office.
Participating in the lottery will be Village President Norm Abbott, who is seeking re-election to a four-year term, and former Village Trustee Donald Sciackitano, who lost to Abbott in the 2009 election for village president.
Also to be determined will be ballot positions for candidates for village clerk and for three seats on the Village Board. Both Abbott and Sciackitano have put together full slates of candidates for those positions aligned with their own campaigns.
