LANSING | Lansing is gearing up to commemorate 120 years. Settlers arrived in Lansing in 1854, but the Village was actually incorporated on March 4, 1893 after a vote was taken by the residents, and a centennial celebration took place in 1993.
On March 3 from 2-7 p.m., a 120th birthday celebration will take place at Park Plaza, Ridge Road and Grant Streets in Lansing with a presentation of colors by the Lansing Veterans Memorial Ceremonial Honor Guard, a performance by the Memorial Jr. High Choir and a reading of the papers of incorporation, with a historical walking tour that day and birthday cake, a historical timeline and food vendors at the American Legion Hall.
