LANSING | Lansing resident Jen Saia is a seamstress who enjoys occasionally making quilts. She has become involved in a First Responder/EMS quilt project where quilts are made and sent to first responders following some devastating calls.

She recently made a quilt with the names embroidered on it of the 19 Hotshot wildland firefighters who died in June while battling a blaze in Arizona. Saia had the quilt signed by the firefighters of the Lansing Fire Department and send it to the Prescott, Arizona firehouse where the crew had served.
