The mother took her to Lansing Police Department to report the incident the next day and police launched an investigation which included them pulling footage from the hotel and all of the phone records between the two, court records state.
The girl also positively identified Ray in a photo lineup of six men, according to the affidavit.
Ray was arrested on Sunday and made an initial appearance in federal court Monday where he was scheduled for a detention hearing on Thursday.
