LANSING | The fifth annual Lansing Roundball Classic Tournament concluded Thursday evening with the 5th grade boys' basketball team from Oak Glen School winning the championship game against Coolidge with a final score of 22-15 in a round of overtime after the game ended in a 14-14 tie. The four-day tournament included teams from five public and private schools in Lansing. In addition to Oak Glen and Coolidge, Lansing Christian School, St. Ann School and Reavis School participated.
Players of the winning Oak Glen team are Jordan Maratea, Anthony Bukvich, Kyheim Schooler, Nicholas Bertrand, Keith King, Kyren Abbott, Deshaun Franklin, Tyson Howard, Ramsey Johnson, Robert Myles, Zion James, Christopher Glenn, Christian Smith, Dario Gomez. The team was coached by Lindsay Garcia with Robert Hall and Marvin Sanders as managers.
As part of the tournament, a food drive was held for the Lansing Food Panty with each participating school collecting donations and donations taken at the door during the games. Proceeds from the tournament will go to a Lansing charity to be named at a later date.
