LANSING | The fifth-grade Student Council at Reavis Elementary School hosted a mock presidential election on Monday, asking 274 students who should run the country for the next four years and President Barack Obama won in a landslide
Obama received 93 percent of the popular vote from the kindergarten to fifth-graders present on Monday.
Prior to the mock election, two fifth-graders read factual information about both Obama and GOP challenger Mitt Romney and explained where the candidates stand on certain issues, such as education and the economy.
Students also used the data generated from the mock election to calculate percents and display fractions.
