LANSING | Repairs to a 36-inch water main that provides drinking water to several south suburbs will necessitate detours for motorists on the Tri-State Tollway, the Bishop Ford Freeway and the Kingery Expressway today to Monday.
The exit ramp from eastbound Tri-State Tollway and eastbound Bishop Ford Freeway to Torrence Avenue will be closed. The ramp from northbound Ill. 394 to eastbound Kingery Expressway and Torrence Avenue also will be closed. The closures will be from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Detours are as follows:
• Eastbound Tri-State Tollway exit to Torrence Avenue, continue east on Interstate 80/94, take the North Calumet Avenue/U.S. 41 exit, immediately take the entrance ramp on westbound I-80/94 and continue to Torrence Avenue exit.
• Eastbound Bishop Ford Freeway exit to Torrence Avenue, continue east on I-80/94, take the exit to North Calumet Avenue/U.S. 41, immediately take the entrance ramp to westbound I-80/94 and continue to the Torrence Avenue exit.
• Northbound Ill. 394 exit to eastbound I-80/94, continue traveling on northbound Ill. 394 to where it joins with westbound I-94. Take the exit to westbound 159th Street/U.S. 6, immediately take the entrance ramp to eastbound I-94 and continue on eastbound I-80/94.
