LANSING | Three men robbed the US Bank at 17150 Torrence Ave. at 1 p.m. Thursday and at least one of them had a gun, the FBI said.

According to witnesses, three males entered the bank about 1 p.m. and announced a robbery, and at least one of the three was armed with a handgun and went over the teller counter to confront bank employees, according to the FBI.

During the course of the robbery, there were reports of injuries to two bank employees, the FBI said in a news release. Lansing police and EMS personnel also responded to the scene.

The robbers all wore hooded sweatshirts and covered their lower faces with bandannas or scarves. They are described as being 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall.

Omar Akhtar, who works at the AT&T store directly across from the bank in the Lansing Commons, said he saw a police officer with a shotgun in front of his store just after 1 p.m.

"All of a sudden you see cops everywhere," Akhtar said.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact the Chicago office of the FBI at (312) 421-6700, or local law enforcement.
