HAMMOND | "Everglades of the North: The Story of the Grand Kankakee Marsh" will be screening at the Field Museum in Chicago on Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. The Grand Kankakee Marsh was one of the largest wetlands in North America. With interlocking wetlands, prairies, savannas and woodlands it was home to some of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the planet.
The screening is open to the public and seating is on a first come first serve basis.
The theater holds 700 people and doors will open at 5:30 p.m. If you would like to attend, please enter the Museum through the west doors. Parking is available in the Soldiers Field garage directly across from the museum at a cost of $19 per car. Public transportation is also available.
The screening will be followed by a panel of experts who will discuss the Kankakee Region. Experts include Josh Rogner, Jim Sweeney, Marianne Hahn, Jeff Manes and Doug Stotz.
