Stimulating science

With the lights out in the auditorium at Illiana Christian High School, students Jeongmin Lee and Kristen Kamp pour a final solution into the tube to create Cold Light Luminol. Students from Crown Point Christian and Highland Christian schools were invited to watch the Weird Science Show on Thursday afternoon at Illiana in Lansing. When mixing the solutions together, electrons in the solution go from a high, excited energy state to a low energy state. The energy "lost" by the electrons is given off as light.
