LANSING | The Lansing Junior Woman's Club recently held its eighth annual Stay Safe Essay Contest. The contest is open to Lansing students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Students are invited to write an essay of less than 400 words related to safety and name a source used for the information. The prize is a ride to school on a fire engine.

The two winners were both fourth grade students from Oak Glen School from Laura LaBella's class, Danielle Harrison and Kyheim Schooler. The winners were met at their home by a Lansing fire engine and congratulated by Lansing Fire Chief Dan Gregorovic and Lansing Engineer/Paramedic Bill Stubitsch.
