LANSING | Police said charges are forthcoming against a person of interest in connection with a death investigation involving a male teen found early Wednesday in the 170th block of Lorenz Avenue with extensive trauma to the head.

Police responded at 12:40 a.m. to the Lorenz Avenue home for a report of an unresponsive teenage male with a wound to the head, according to a news release. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. The teenager's identity is not being released pending positive identification from the Cook County medical examiner's office, the release said.

Police found a person of interest in the area who was taken to the Lansing Police Department for questioning. Charges are expected against that individual, Detective Lt. Steve Roberts said.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is assisting Lansing police in the investigation.
