Illiana Christian High School senior Hannah Byma enjoys displaying her creativity as yearbook editor at the Lansing school.
Voted Most Likely To Be a Late Night Talk Show Host by her senior class, Byma is in charge of staff assignments, templates and editing finished pages.
“We are putting together the fun stuff in our senior pages. The seniors get more pages and we add fun things like celebrity look-a-likes,” she said.
“We get to decide how the book will look and we get to express our creative side and document the year through pictures and quotes.”
Byma maintains a 3.29 grade point average and is a member of the Christian Service Club and the Wind Ensemble. She plans to attend Fox College in Bedford Park, Ill., to become an administrative assistant.
“I would like to start out as an administrative assistant and then after a few years, work my way higher into business management,” Byma said. “I am really interested in business and I really like the business classes I’m taking at school.”
The daughter of Bill and Judi Byma, of Lansing, Byma was chosen in September as the Lansing Rotary Club Student of the Month.
“I didn’t realize that the school had really noticed (what I do), but it was surprising and nice to know that they did,” she said.
Byma is a member of the youth group at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Lansing, volunteers in the children’s ministry and plays flute with the praise team.
