LYNWOOD | Village President Gene Williams appointed Lisa Hooten treasurer on Tuesday.

Hooten has worked as an accountant with the village for nine years and worked for the accounting firm McGladrey and Pullen before that.

"She's worked for us for quite a few years now and it was time to promote her," Williams said. "She's done a good job."

Former Treasurer Terry Fagan resigned earlier this year after serving for 20 years.

"I don't think he had enough time for his regular job (in addition to being treasurer)," Williams said.

Hooten has performed many of the duties of the office of treasurer since Fagan's resignation.

Hooten was not available for comment at Tuesday's meeting.

Earlier in the board meeting, a vote on ordinance 13-34 to amend the village code regarding "garage sales and other occasional sales" was tabled.
