Lynwood village president named to municipal league's legislative committee

LYNWOOD | The Illinois Municipal League announced Lynwood Village President Eugene Williams has been appointed to the League's Legislative Committee by IML President and Loves Park Mayor Darryl Lindberg.

The Legislative Committee guides the League's legislative program. Their work is supported by six policy committees that will assist with issue analysis and the development of an annual legislative agenda.

The Illinois Municipal League is Illinois' statewide lobby and education organization so municipalities can have a resource and voice in Springfield. It's key mission is to keep decision-making local, the release states.

"There are tremendous challenges facing our state," Williams said in a statement. "It's important that our state legislators receive input from local leaders if we hope to find solutions to improve the lives of our citizens. Serving on the Illinois Municipal League's Legislative Committee provides an ideal platform for participation in the legislative process"
