Country breakfast

PORTAGE | First Presbyterian Church of Portage is having a country breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Menu includes scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, hash browns, bacon, sausage, beverage. St. Joseph Feast Day

HOMEWOOD | St. Joseph Parish will celebrate St. Joseph's Feast Day March 19 with a special evening Mass at 5:15 p.m. and dinner to follow at 6:15 p.m. in Fr. Sayers Hall. The family-style dinner includes mostaccioli, roast chicken, sausage and peppers, salad, rolls, coffee and soft drinks. Premium beer and wine will be available at an additional cost. All guests are asked to bring a sweet for the St. Joseph Altar. Advance tickets are $10 per person, $12 at the door; $5 for children 6 to 10 years old. CROWN POINT | The Crown Point Knights of Columbus will hold its annual all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Church, 405 E. Joliet St. Dinner includes french fries or boiled potatoes, vegetable, cole slaw, bread, homemade desserts, coffee or lemonade. Email dwilly9@yahoo.com.

EAST CHICAGO | The East Chicago Knights of Columbus Council 1700 will hold a Lenten fish fry each Friday through March 22. All meals include the all-you-can-eat soup and salad bar prepared by the Knights. Various dinners will be available, such as ocean or lake perch, fried shrimp, baked tilapia and frog legs, as well as pierogi dinners and combo dinners, including the Famous Fisherman's Delight, which includes a sampling of all fried fish. DYER | Casa Maria banquet hall, on the grounds of St. Maria Goretti Church, will sponsor fish frys all Fridays during Lent except Good Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 500 Northgate Drive. Adult dinners include baked or fried fish, roasted potatoes, cabbage and noodles, green beans and all-you-can-eat salad bar. Featured is all-you-can-eat Alaskan pollock fish with curly fries, cole slaw, rolls and dessert. Other dinners available include catfish nuggets, shrimp, spaghetti and mac-n-cheese.
