Highland police arrested a Riverdale, Ill., man early Thursday after police said he and a partner stole tools and led police on a chase that ended along a bike trail.
A resident in the 9000 block of Hess Drive contacted police shortly after 3:30 a.m. when he saw two men removing tools from a neighbor's vehicle, a Highland police news release states.
Police responded, and the two men fled in a van.
Police said they caught the passenger, 36-year-old Lamont Antwon Johnson, of Riverdale, but are still seeking the driver.
Highland Police Cmdr. George Georgeff said Johnson also was wanted in Peoria, Ill.
