DOLTON | The Dolton West Elementary District 148 School Board recently honored a physical education teacher and a police officer for their quick response to a student who collapsed following a basketball tryout on Nov. 8.

The board recognized Washington Junior High School physical education teacher Brian Levicke and Riverdale police Officer Marcus Lewis at the Nov. 15 board meeting.

Both men received high praise from the School Board and school administrators. The student who collapsed is doing well, has returned to school and is on the basketball team. Further information was not available.
