RIVERDALE | A 27-year-old Riverdale man is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday after being arrested on an outstanding murder warrant late last week, police said.

Cleotha Watson was arrested at his home in the 13900 block of South Edbrooke Avenue at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Department.

Watson was wanted on a first-degree murder warrant in connection with the shooting death of Preston Strong on Aug. 17, 2012.

Police said Watson and Strong were involved in a verbal argument in the 13900 block of South Clark Street. When Strong tried to walk away, Watson allegedly shot him multiple times, killing him.

A judge on Sunday set bail for Watson at $1 million. He is scheduled to appear at the Cook County 6th District courthouse in Markham again on Tuesday.
