SAUK VILLAGE | Two men and a teen are charged in a shooting that left one man dead and a woman shot in the face, police said Wednesday.

William Gillyard, 19, Essie Nooner, 18, and the 17-year-old male juvenile, all of Sauk Village, are charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and attempted armed robbery, police said in a news release. Gillyard is in the Cook County Jail without bond while Nooner and the juvenile have a $2 million bond.

At 12:05 a.m. Saturday, police received a report of two people shot in the 2100 block of 217th Street. The male victim, John McIntyre, 26, of Sauk Village, had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at 11:30 a.m. that day, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office ruled the death a homicide. The 19-year-old female victim was shot in the face and is being treated for her injuries.

The Sauk Village Police Department Detective Division and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force investigated the shooting. Police learned of the three suspects, who were located and questioned.

Police said robbery was the motive behind the slaying.
